Fixed full-arch implant treatment in Yuba City, California

Full Arch Dental Implants / All-on-X

When most or all teeth in an upper or lower jaw are failing or missing, a Full Arch restoration can replace that entire arch with fixed implant-supported teeth. “All-on-4” is one possible configuration. “All-on-X” is the broader idea: the implant number and treatment sequence are planned for the individual arch rather than assumed in advance.

X
FULL ARCH / ALL-ON-X

A Full Arch prosthesis is one connected fixed restoration supported by multiple implants. The illustration is educational, not a treatment plan.

Same-day fixed temporary teeth may be possible in selected cases, but they are not the final zirconia teeth and they cannot be promised before evaluation and treatment planning.

What is replaced

One complete upper or lower arch of teeth

How it stays in place

A fixed prosthesis is secured to multiple dental implants

Temporary stage

Fixed acrylic/PMMA teeth may be same day or around day three in selected cases

Final stage

Typically a zirconia prosthesis after integration, often around 3–4 months

Start with the terminology

What “Full Arch” and “All-on-X” actually mean

An arch is one complete row of teeth: the upper jaw or the lower jaw. Full Arch implant treatment uses multiple implants to support one connected fixed prosthesis that replaces the teeth across that arch.

All-on-X is useful language because the “X” is not automatically four. The number and distribution of implants should follow the restorative plan, the anatomy, available bone, bite, hygiene space and other case-specific factors. That is why someone asking for All-on-4 may ultimately receive a different Full Arch configuration after evaluation.

The Yuba City practice can treat an upper arch, a lower arch, or both arches where appropriate. Dr. Harjinder Singh generally prefers to stage one jaw at a time; treating both arches together is comparatively uncommon in his practice.

Who usually starts this conversation?

Full Arch treatment is usually considered when the problem is bigger than one missing tooth

This page is most relevant when the goal is to rebuild an entire upper or lower arch—not when one or two teeth simply need individual replacement.

Many teeth are already missing.

A fixed arch may be considered when isolated single-tooth replacement is no longer the practical treatment task.

Most remaining teeth in one jaw are failing.

The first question is not automatically “remove everything.” Remaining teeth still need to be evaluated before a full-arch plan is chosen.

You currently wear a complete denture and want to explore fixed teeth.

A fixed Full Arch is different from a removable implant-retained Locator denture, and the practical differences matter.

You are comparing All-on-4, All-on-6 or “full mouth implants.”

These searches often describe the same broader decision: how to rebuild an entire arch with implant support.

All-on-4 vs All-on-X

Why Dr. Singh does not start every case by assuming “four”

All-on-4 is a valid full-arch configuration. It is not the only configuration. Dr. Singh’s approach is to use at least four implants for a Full Arch case and, depending on the individual arch, approximately 4–6 or sometimes 6–8 implants.

All-on-4

A fixed full-arch prosthesis supported by four strategically distributed implants.

All-on-X

A broader full-arch concept in which the implant number and distribution are selected for the treatment plan.

Why this distinction matters: ITI consensus guidance recommends planning the definitive prosthesis first and considering anatomy, bone, implant distribution, hygiene space, opposing teeth, patient factors and future complications when selecting implant number. It recommends at least four appropriately distributed implants for a one-piece full-arch fixed prosthesis, while allowing additional implants when the plan calls for them.

The plan comes before the implant count

What needs to be understood before deciding how many implants belong in your arch

Full Arch treatment is both surgical and restorative. The position of the implants has to serve the teeth that will ultimately be attached to them.

01

The teeth you still have

Remaining teeth are examined before deciding whether preservation, extraction or a full-arch approach makes sense.

02

Bone and anatomy

Imaging is used when clinically needed to understand available bone and relevant anatomy for implant planning.

03

The planned prosthesis

The final shape, support, material, implant distribution and cleanability of the restoration all influence the surgical plan.

04

Your opposing teeth and bite

The upper and lower arches function together, so the condition of the opposing teeth can change restorative decisions.

05

Whether immediate loading is appropriate

Same-day provisional teeth require a suitable clinical situation; implant stability and the need for additional site procedures can affect timing.

If you still have failing teeth

A Full Arch consultation should evaluate the remaining teeth—not simply assume they all need to come out

Some Full Arch patients arrive with several failing or non-restorable teeth still present. When extractions are part of the agreed treatment plan, Dr. Singh can coordinate those extractions with the implant and provisional stages. But the decision to remove teeth belongs after examination and treatment planning.

Site conditions can also change the sequence. Bone grafting or other implant-site preparation may be appropriate in some cases, while other cases may proceed without it. These decisions can affect both implant placement and whether immediate provisional teeth are appropriate.

Implant plan

Good Full Arch planning starts with diagnosis and the final restorative goal—not a preset implant number.

A different treatment experience

Fixed Full Arch and removable implant-supported dentures are not the same thing

Both options can use dental implants, but the day-to-day experience is different. The right comparison is not simply “implants versus dentures.” It is whether you need a fixed prosthesis or a removable prosthesis and what the anatomy, maintenance requirements, treatment plan and budget support.

Fixed Full Arch / All-on-X

The prosthesis is secured to implants and is not removed by the patient for routine daily cleaning.

Locator-supported denture

The denture gains retention from implants but is intentionally removable by the patient.

From failing teeth to final teeth

The Full Arch process is a sequence, not a single appointment

The exact plan changes from person to person, but Dr. Singh’s Full Arch pathway can include the full sequence from extractions through the final fixed prosthesis and ongoing maintenance.

1

Evaluation and records

Examination, X-rays and 3D imaging when clinically needed help determine whether fixed full-arch treatment is appropriate.

2

Restorative and surgical planning

The planned arch, implant number, implant distribution, treatment stages, provisional timing and sedation needs are coordinated before surgery.

3

Extractions and site preparation when needed

Remaining failing teeth may be removed as part of the plan. Additional site preparation is case-specific rather than automatic.

4

Implant placement and provisional fixed teeth

When conditions support the planned protocol, a fixed temporary acrylic/PMMA prosthesis may be delivered the same day. In other cases, Dr. Singh may deliver it around the third day.

5

Healing and implant integration

The provisional restoration is used during the integration period. A typical final-restoration timeline reported by the practice is around 3–4 months, but healing time varies.

6

Final zirconia prosthesis

After appropriate integration, the final Full Arch prosthesis is typically made in zirconia with outside laboratory involvement.

7

Ongoing checks, adjustments and repairs

For Full Arch treatment completed by the practice, the office continues to follow the prosthesis over time rather than treating final delivery as the end of care.

One of the biggest sources of confusion

“Same-day teeth” usually means a fixed temporary—not your final zirconia prosthesis

The phrase “teeth in a day” can make a multi-stage treatment sound like a one-day finished product. A more accurate way to understand it is that selected patients may receive a fixed provisional restoration on the day implants are placed, while the final prosthesis comes after healing and integration.

Surgery day

Implants are placed according to the plan; extractions may also be part of that appointment.

Provisional teeth

A fixed acrylic/PMMA temporary may be delivered the same day in selected cases or around day three in others.

Final teeth

The final zirconia prosthesis is typically delivered after integration, often around 3–4 months for this practice.

Why immediate loading is a clinical decision, not a marketing promise

ITI guidance for fixed prostheses in edentulous jaws notes that primary implant stability is critical for predictable integration and that the need for simultaneous augmentation can make immediate loading less appropriate. In practical terms, the temporary-tooth schedule should follow the clinical conditions found during planning and treatment.

Planning the experience, not just the implants

Sedation and treatment staging are part of the Full Arch conversation

Full Arch treatment can involve multiple surgical and restorative steps. For appropriate patients, the practice offers sedation options including nitrous oxide, oral sedation and moderate conscious/IV sedation. Sedation eligibility is individualized and may require medical review or clearance.

The practice can treat the upper arch, lower arch or both where appropriate, but Dr. Singh generally prefers treating one jaw at a time. Because the reason for staging can depend on the individual plan, it should be discussed specifically during your evaluation rather than presented as a universal rule.

Practice-specific points
  • One jaw at a time is generally preferred.
  • Both arches together are possible in selected situations but are rare in this practice.
  • Temporary fixed teeth may be same day or around day three depending on the case.
  • Final Full Arch teeth are typically zirconia.
Long-term ownership matters

Fixed does not mean maintenance-free

A Full Arch prosthesis is designed to stay fixed in the mouth, but the implants, surrounding tissues, screws and prosthetic materials still need ongoing care and monitoring.

At home

Follow the cleaning method demonstrated for your specific prosthesis. The goal is to control plaque and keep the areas around the implants and under the prosthesis as clean as the design allows.

At the office

Professional follow-up allows the team to evaluate hygiene, tissue health, the prosthesis, the bite and any mechanical concerns. Dr. Singh’s office provides ongoing checks, adjustments and repairs for the Full Arch cases it completes.

If something changes

Do not ignore looseness, a change in bite, a damaged tooth or other new prosthetic concern. Mechanical issues are easier to evaluate when the office knows about them promptly.

The American College of Prosthodontists emphasizes professional maintenance for full-arch implant restorations and notes that routine removal of an otherwise stable restoration is not automatically required when adequate hygiene can be performed with it in place.

Cost and financing

A Full Arch quote should describe your actual treatment plan—not just advertise a number

Full Arch cost can change with the arch being treated, number of implants, extractions, site preparation, provisional and final prosthetic requirements, sedation and other case-specific factors. For current published package information, use the Dental Implant Costs & Packages page; your final quote still depends on the treatment plan created for you.

Financing options may be available, subject to provider approval and terms. Insurance benefits for implant treatment vary by plan and should be verified rather than assumed.

High-value treatment deserves visible evidence

What a useful Full Arch case should show you

Before-and-after photos are helpful, but the strongest educational case evidence explains the decisions between those two photographs: what was failing, how the arch was planned, what the provisional looked like and how the final restoration differed.

Planning evidence
1. Planning evidence

Show the starting condition and why a full-arch plan was considered.

Provisional stage
2. Provisional stage

Show what the patient wears while implants heal and integrate.

Final restoration
3. Final restoration

Show the final prosthesis and explain how it differs from the temporary.

When you review Full Arch results, look for case stories that show the starting condition, planning, provisional stage and final result—not only a cropped “after” photo.

A procedure-focused Yuba City practice

Why the provider’s planning process matters as much as the product name

Harjinder Singh, DDS is a general dentist whose practice is focused on selected oral-surgery-related procedures, dental implants and Full Arch treatment. He confirms more than 25 years focusing on extractions and implants and estimates that he has placed approximately 2,000 individual implants during his U.S. career. These are Dr. Singh’s approximate career estimates rather than audited case totals.

For Full Arch treatment completed through this practice, the clinical pathway can stay coordinated from extractions and implant placement through the fixed provisional, final prosthesis and long-term checks or repairs. 3D imaging is used for implant planning when clinically needed rather than treated as a marketing requirement for every patient.

Complete Full Arch sequence

Extractions, implants, temporary fixed teeth, final prosthesis and follow-up can be coordinated through the practice.

Case-dependent implant count

The practice does not restrict every Full Arch plan to exactly four implants.

Regional patient draw

Patients travel to the Yuba City office from nearby communities and other parts of Northern California.

Why the arch should be planned before choosing the implant count

The number is only one part of the decision. The restorative design, anatomy, implant distribution and maintenance needs have to work together as one plan.

RESTORATIVE PLAN → IMPLANT DISTRIBUTION
Questions that change the plan

Useful Full Arch questions to ask before committing to treatment

These answers are intentionally practical. Your examination and treatment plan take priority over general website information.

No formal referral is universally required. The practice receives professional referrals, but patients can also contact the Yuba City office directly to request an evaluation.

Recent outside imaging may be considered when it is diagnostically adequate. Dr. Singh may still recommend new or updated imaging when the current clinical situation needs to be evaluated more clearly.

The practice can treat upper and lower Full Arch cases where appropriate, but Dr. Singh generally prefers one jaw at a time. Treating both arches together is comparatively rare in his practice.

The prosthesis is fixed rather than routinely removed by the patient, but that does not mean a lifetime result can be guaranteed. Implants and prosthetic components still require hygiene, monitoring and sometimes maintenance or repair.

No. Site preparation is case-specific. Bone volume, anatomy, implant distribution and the prosthetic plan help determine whether grafting or another preparatory procedure is useful or necessary.

Yes. The practice reports receiving patients from Yuba City, Marysville, Live Oak, Gridley, Oroville, Chico, Auburn, Grass Valley, Roseville, Sacramento, Redding and other Northern California communities. Because Full Arch care involves multiple stages, discuss visit timing and travel logistics with the office before making arrangements.

Next step

Find out what your arch actually needs before choosing a number, package or “teeth-in-a-day” promise

A Full Arch evaluation can clarify which teeth are maintainable, whether a fixed arch is appropriate, how many implants may be considered, whether provisional fixed teeth could be immediate or delayed, and what the path to a final prosthesis may look like for you.

Went in to have 3 teeth extracted, I was extremely nervous going in but Dr.Singh was very reassuring and nice. Had the 3 teeth removed before I even knew it and I didn’t feel a thing. By far the best experience I’ve ever had in any kind of Dr office.
